You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Friday 1. March 2024

Den siste uken har vært preget av vind fra sørlig retning og mildvær. Mandag var snødekket gjennomfuktet til 500 moh i Vågan. Det har smeltet mye snø i lavlandet. Høyere til fjells er snødekket vindpreget og det har blitt lastet en del snø inn i nordvendt terreng.

Tirsdag ble en person fraktet noen meter med et personutløst skred i Kvæfjorden.

Nysnøgrensen fredag morgen var på rundt 500-600 moh.

6-10 mm precipitation. Rain up to 600 m a.s.l during the evening. Strong breeze from south, changing to moderate gale from the southwest during the evening. -5 °C to 2 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Friday 1. March 2024

Little to no precipitation. Strong breeze from south, changing to breeze from the southeast during the evening. -2 °C to 5 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Det kom noe nysnø torsdag kveld og det har blåst kraftig i løpet av natta. Dette har gitt ansamling av fokksnø i leområder mot nord. Det kan være lett å løse ut skred så lenge pålagringen pågår. Det ventes at nysnøen stabiliseres raskt når vinden avtar mot ettermiddagen og kvelden.
